The system comprises a tray, and a device (1) by which the tray can be suspended in the vertical position from time to time. This can be fixed to an edge of the servant's clothing, eg. a trouser belt. Suspension of the tray can be by a pivoting movement, in which the upwards-protruding edge of the tray, and which is fitted round a grip portion (2) on the device, which can consist of a stirrup. The grip portion can be formed by a part protruding outwards, downwards, and inwards again.
