PURPOSE: To revise colors efficiently by revising the color through a color revision command of form image data to be overlapped during image data recording, overlapping the form image data with image data and providing the output of the resulting data. CONSTITUTION: When an operation panel 209 is used to make a color revision command to a form image during reception of form data, color image data for one pixel to be registered are read from an EEPROM 215 and optional color data are selected. When a form overlay print is commanded by the panel 209, the content is stored in a flag in a RAM 204. Upon the receipt of image data by one page, the data are stored in a page memory 211, the flag in the RAM 204 is referenced to expand the stored form data and image data in terms of bit map and image data overlapping the form image and the received image are stored to a bit map memory 205 via a companding circuit 206. The data stored in the memory 205 are transferred to a printer engine 100, where the data are printed out. |
