<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method improving on influence because of mismatching between modulator arrays and to provide a device produced following this method. SOLUTION: For avoiding generation of an apparent artifact due to mismatching between two or multiple modulator arrays 1702, 1704, individual arrays are overlapped together, and an overlapped part, in an image is generated by means of both arrays. A contribution by means of the overlapped arrays is varied to a combined output so that a small contribution is made in one end part of the overlapped area while a large contribution is made in the other end part by means of a contribution of each array. The overlapped part, between the modulator arrays 1702, 1704 forms a part of an image as a whole, so that an error in matching is spread over the whole of the overlapped part substantially, and the error in matching can be concealed.</p> |
