<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide dry granular electrostatic photographic toner having thermal stability and a good electrification characteristic and sufficiently dispersed in a general toner binder material by using a charge control agent containing a specific fourth-grade phosphonium trihalocupric acid salt to form the toner. SOLUTION: A polymer binder and a charge control agent containing a fourth-grade phosphonium trihalocupric acid salt expressed by the formula are used to form this toner, where R is selected from the unsaturated alkyl group having the carbon number of 1-24 and one or more kinds of the hydroxy group and carboxy group, R<1> , R<2> , R<3> may be the same or different and are independently selected from hydrogen and the alkyl group having the carbon number of 1-24, and X may be the same or different and is independently selected from fluorine and chlorine. The salt gives good charge control to the toner and a developer, and it has the decomposition point sufficiently higher than 150 deg.C. When this salt and a proper polymer binder are fused and mixed to form toner, it is dispersed in the toner quickly, efficiently, and uniformly.</p> |
