MEDICINE FOR INHIBITING THROMBOGENESIS

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject inhibitor containing a Bacillus subtilis-produced plasmin as an active ingredient, limitedly decomposing fibrinogen to prevent the formation of fibrin nets at the final stage of the thrombogenesis, and therefore capable of inhibiting the formation of thrombi and the coagulation of blood. CONSTITUTION: This inhibitor contains a Bacillus subtilis-produced plasmin (preferably a high pure product) as an active ingredient. The plasmin is obtained e.g. by extracting NATTO (fermented soybeans) or the culture product of Bacillus subtilis with neutral or basic water or with a phosphate buffer solution containing NaCl or KCl or tris buffer solution containing the same, and subsequently adding a lower aliphatic alcohol to the extract so as to attain the conc, of 60-80v/v% to precipitate the plasmin. The inhibitor is preferably administered in the form of an enteric-coated preparation at a daily dose of 1-3g as the purified plasmin.
