<p>PURPOSE: To provide a steering system for an automatic traveling vehicle that can switch automatic steering and manual steering without the following rotation of a handle bar while being simple and compact in the structure of the system. CONSTITUTION: A handle shaft 14 is fitted to a body frame so as to be rotated by a handle bar, and a turning driving means is constituted of a motor 11 and a reduction gear 12. The motor 11 is fitted onto the upper side of the reduction gear 12 so that the rotary shaft of the motor 11 and the output shaft of the reduction gear 12 are vertically coaxial. The reduction gear 12 is supported by a member 10 provided at the body frame, near the lower part of the handle shaft. A steering shaft 4 is disposed near the lower part of the output shaft of the reduction gear and the lower part of the handle shaft, and the output shaft of the reduction gear 12 and the handle shaft 14 are connected to the steering shaft 4 through switching means 36, 38 or the like. The switching means 36, 38 are so constituted as to select either one of the rotation of the output shaft of the reduction gear 12 and the rotation of the handle shaft 14 so as to be able to transmit the rotation to the steering shaft 4, and steering is performed according to the turning of the steering shaft 4.</p> |
