The rear door for a tipping trailer comprises panels (4,7,9), connected by pivots (5,8), which are inserted between and fixed to rear posts (1) by pivots (2). Hydraulic actuators (3,11) are supplied from the tractor. Operation of one actuator (11) causes the locking hook (10) to be lowered and free the lower panel (9). Operation of the other actuator (3) causes the pivoting linkage (6) to raise the central panel (7) which drives, during its travel, the lower panel. When the central panel, suspending the lower panel, attains its maximum travel the upper panel follows the movement and rotates about the pivoting spindle (2) fixed to the post. The upper panel thus moves, during its travel, the other panels, which are fixed to it, and concertinas them. |
