The subject matter of the invention is a method and an apparatus for milling and drilling plate-shaped pieces. In the method use is made of a milling unit 2, a drilling unit 3 and a multilevel table 5, which can be rotated in relation to the said units, the multilevel table 5 comprising at least three support surfaces 11-13 sloping towards one another for supporting the pieces P1-P3, and rotating them into different positions by rotating on the multilevel table 5, as the pieces P1-P4 are milled and drilled as required. When one piece P3 is being milled on one support surface 13, drilling of a second piece P2 on another support surface 12 is being carried out during the same phase, and during the same phase a finished piece P1 is removed from a third support surface 11 and a new piece P4 is brought to the said third support surface 11. <IMAGE>
