Non contact monitoring of feed conveyor belt

The position of a feed conveyor is monitored by a non contact arrangement that has inductive coupling between transmitter elements (8) attached at intervals to the surface of the belt (2) elements. The arrangement is in the form of planar coils with loops that span the width of the belt and each includes transmitting device. Located adjacent to the belt is an inductive receiver (4) that has a coil in which a signal is induced when a transmitter is present and this indicates a specific condition of the feed belt.
