<p>PURPOSE:To provide a method for forming and hardening stock capable of easily forming by cold drawing even in complicated shape parts, furthermore capable of selectively increasing the surface hardness in a specified place and capable of suppressing its deformation caused by hardening to a minimum. CONSTITUTION:Low carbon steel stock is subjected to forming by a cold drawing into a prescribed sectional shape. Thereafter, the whole surface of the formed part is carburized to increase the carbon concn. in the surface, and next, only the required prescribed part in the hardness is subjected to local hardening by induction hardening or the like.</p> |
