Thermoplastic elastomer compsns. (I) contain (1) 5-60 wt.% thermoplastic, i.e. polycarbonate (PC), styrene/acrylonitrile copolymer (SAN), PMMA, polyoxymethylene (POM), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polyamide (PA) or PVC, and (2) 40-95 wt.% crosslinked ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer, obtd. by emulsion polymerisation of a mixt. of the monomers with poly-unsatd. comonomers, opt. followed by graft copolymerisation. Also claimed are (i) prepn. of (I) by mixing powdered component (2) with powdered or granulated (1), without additional crosslinking, and then processing by conventional methods such as extrusion, injection moulding or calendering; and (ii) crosslinked and functionalised EVA graft copolymer (II) (see below).
