Preserving fresh pollen under inert gas in a sealed sachet or container comprises: (i) loading the fresh pollen into sachets or small containers; (ii) introducing the loaded sachets or containers into a vacuum chamber and applying a vacuum; (iii) injecting an inert gas, esp. pure nitrogen, into the chamber; and (iv) heat sealing the sachets or applying a sealed closure to the containers before reopening the vacuum chamber. |
