A pile yarn for an artificial lawn characterized by having an elongated, substantially spiral section formed by twisting one or a plurality of bundles of flat blank yarns and fixing the twisted state, or a pile yarn for an artificial lawn characterized by comprising a plurality of yarns having an elongated, substantially spiral section formed by twisting in one direction one or a plurality of bundles of flat blank yarns wherein a plurality of said yarns are mutually twisted in the direction opposite to said one direction, and a method and a spinneret for producing such a pile yarn for an artificial lawn.
