an on-screen display integrated circuit (OSD IC) receiving serial data from the microprocessor and an oscillation frequency from a D/A converter, and displaying an accuracy mode frequency and the picture control state in character form; and a mixer connected to R, G and B lines of a video card combines the color signals from the OSD IC and the video card. The microprocessor controls and decides a display mode of the monitor corresponding to polarities and frequencies of input horizontal and vertical synchronising signals. The D/A converter selects output ports corresponding to the selected picture control mode, and converts the picture control mode signals received from the microprocessor into analog signals.
