Sludge de-watering sieve drum, e.g. for waste water treatment or fermentation

In an assembly to de-water / thicken sludge arising from e.g. biological processes employing flocculants, the novelty is that the inner face of a sieve drum incorporates helical (7,8) paddle sections attached to its inner face and extending with interruptions from end to end (1) in sections each extending through at least 270 degrees. The helix pitch reduces towards the sludge outlet and the last section has variable pitch.
