摘要 <p>Prepn. of a regular grain oriented Si-steel 7-18ml thick, comprises (a) providing a hot band of Si-steel contg. 2.5-4 wt. % Si and removing the hot band scale if present, (b) cold rolling to intermediate gauge without an anneal of the hot band, (c) subjecting the intermediate gauge material to an intermediate anneal at 1650-2100 deg.F soak temp. for 1-30 secs. soak time, (d) conducting a slow cooling stage from the soak temp. to 1000-1200 deg.F at a cooling rate of less than 1500 deg.F/minute, (e) then conducting a fast cooling stage to 600-1000 deg.F at a rate of more than 1500 deg.f/minute followed by water quenching, (f) cold rolling the Si-steel to final gauge, (g) decarburising, then coating the decarburised Si-steel with an annealing separator, and subjecting the Si-steel to a final anneal to effect sec. recrystallisation. Pref. the Si-content is 3.15 wt. % pref. (c) has 3-8 sec. soak time. Pref. (c) has 1650-1700 deg.F soak temp. Pref. (c) has 1680 deg.F soak temp. Pref. (d) is terminated at 1100 +/- 50 deg.F Pref. (d) has 500-1050 deg.F/minute cooling rate. Pref. (e) has 2500-3500 deg. F/minute cooling rate.</p>
