PURPOSE:To obtain a cassette loading device capale of smoothly shifting a cassette without deforming a cassette holder as for a cassette loading device shifting the cassette to a recording and reproducing position. CONSTITUTION:An upper holder piece 14 is moved while being guided by the guide holes 3 and 6 of side plates 2 and 4. A lower holder piece 20 turnably supported by the upper holder piece 14 is energized toward the upper holder piece 14 by a leaf spring 25. The lower holder piece 20 energized by the leaf spring 25 abuts on the projecting part of the upper holder piece 14 so that its turning is regulated.
