The assembly seals an annular cavity formed between a first bearing ring (2) and a second bearing ring (4) disposed coaxially. The first ring (2) forms a bearing and between the two rings (2) and (4) is a water-tight joint (10) having an annular water-tight joint (14) and an annular water-tight joint lip (16). The lip (16) possesses a radial length (A) and an axial thickness (B) which gives the ratio (A/B) of the radial length (A) on the axial thickness (B). The ratio (A/B) is in the region of 4.5 to at least 7.0 or more.
