PURPOSE:To provide a developing device with high durability and stable image quality generating no degrading in coating on the surface of carrier caused by repeated copying and out-of-endurance and no separation flaws. CONSTITUTION:The developing device for developing latent images formed on a latent image carrier after carrying a developer to a developing part being opposite to the latent image carrier by means of the developer carrier while forming a thin layer of developer on the developer carrier by means of a developer layer restricting member with the developer composed of one component stored in a developer container carried on the developer carrier, is characterized in that the developer carrier of the developing device is that having a resin coating layer dispersion containing pigment treated with silicone oil having on a metal cylinder at least silane coupling agent or amine at its side chain.
