Process for remediation of soil polluted with organic contaminants, suitable for in-situ applications, in which a solution containing one or more anionic surfactants having an alkaline pH is introduced into the soil area to be remediated, the soil area is subjected to an electric field in such a manner that the pH of the soil at the anode at which the solution laden with contaminants is to be taken off, taking into account the fed solution streams and their pH, does not change to the acid range with a pH below about 6.5, and a selective, temporary excitation by sound in the soil area is performed.
