In the case of a motor vehicle with outer, lateral longitudinal frame members elements reinforcing the vehicle body are connected, on the one hand, to these longitudinal frame members and/or, on the other hand, to an underbody or underbody components, the reinforcing element comprising a first, V-shaped, horizontal strut which is connected to a second, V-shaped, vertical strut. The segments of the struts are connected to the vehicle body as well as to a support part and to the strut via threaded bolts held in blind rivet nuts.
