<p>PURPOSE:To considerably reduce the omission of detection by improving the detection sensitivity without increasing an influence of noise in comparison with conventional motion detection. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a motion vector detecting circuit 1 which detects a motion vector between fields of a picture signal, a difference absolute value circuit 4 which calculates the difference value of the same object in the picture between fields based on the motion vector detected by the motion vector detecting circuit 1, a difference absolute value circuit 5 which calculates the difference value in the same position on the picture between fields of the picture signal, and a comparing and discriminating circuit 6 which generates a motion area detection signal based on two inter-field difference values from two difference absolute value circuits 4 and 5.</p> |
