PURPOSE:To provide a socket type terminal, by which a sleeve can be inserted to a base cylindrical part in a female terminal main body without any deflection of an axial line. CONSTITUTION:In a female terminal main body 10, plural elastic contact pieces 12, which are divided in the circumferential direction by a slit 11 pointing the longitudinal direction and clamp a male terminal, are provided in the front part, while a base cylindrical part 13 for fixing a sleeve is formed in the middle part. Four grooves 13a, which are long grooves arranged along the axial line direction at equal intervals in the circumferential direction, and a circular step part 13b for receiving the sleeve are formed in the base cylindrical part 13. On the other hand, the rear end of the sleeve 20 serving as a cylindrical protecting member is opened so as to be fitted in the base cylindrical part 13, and beads 21, which are four projecting pieces, are formed from the opening along the axial direction so as to overhang toward the inside of the sleeve 20. The beads 21 are arranged so as to match the grooves 13a in the base cylindrical part 13. A terminal insertion hole 20a serving as an insertion port for the male terminal is formed in the front end of the sleeve 20. |
