PURPOSE:To enable properties of a water slurry fuel to be evaluated exactly in a short time by irradiating it with electromagnetic waves or ultrasonic waves and by measuring a state of the water structure from the time dependency or the frequency dependency of their absorption or reflection. CONSTITUTION:A water slurry fuel is irradiated with pulselike electromagnetic waves (radiowaves, microwaves, infrared rays, visible rays, etc.) or ultrasonic rays, and a state of the water structure in the water slurry is measured from the time dependency or the frequency dependency of electromagnetic waves or ultrasonic waves absorbed or reflected in the water slurry fuel. A state of the water structure is obtained by giving disturbance to a water slurry in an equilibrium, for example, through irradiation with electromagnetic waves or ultrasonic waves to cause a deviation from the equilibrium and by measuring the relaxation time of water molecules as the system returns to an equilibrium by an internal movement of the system. This relaxation time of water molecules indicates an average movement state of water molecules. |
