<p>PURPOSE:To provide an operation system being suitable for document editing operations using a multiwindow by which main document editing operations and retrieval operations of a referece document are performed independently, and yet, an operater can concentrate upon the document editing operation by operating the retrieval operation by one operation with an exclusive device, besides, can work in a design-work, etc., with an excellent operability. CONSTITUTION:This system is provided with a means 44 for assigning a window number to an window (a reference window) which is not active at the time when a switching to an active window is generated, a switching means 43 for switching a connection between the reference window and a reference window manipulate key 3 based on an assigned window number, a means 46 for displaying the window number to the reference window. Besides, a window number management table 45 is provided on the system so as to switching easily the reference window with the assigned number. Thus, the retrieval operation of a reference document is performed by one operation without interrupting the document editing operation.</p> |
