The cutter (6) is a rotating drum with quartering blades (22,24) arranged around the periphery. The potatoes (18) to be quartered are fed on a conveyor under the cutter drum when they are partially penetrated by the quartering blades, and thus picked up from the conveyor onto the drum periphery.The partly cut potatoes are carried round by the cutter drum past a curved deflector plate arrangement (8) which presses them further against the blades and completely severs the pieces. |
