A trailer coupling has at least one force measurement cell for measuring traction, compression and/or supporting forces between a towing vehicle and trailer. The cell contains a piston arranged in a pot-shaped housing to form an elastomer-filled annular gap and which acts on a pressure sensor. When used with standard trailer couplings, the measurement cell (7) is mounted in the force path between the towing vehicle (3a) and the towing coupling (1).
