PURPOSE:To eliminate generation of a scratch on an intermediate transfer body due to a paper transfer roller when abnormality is generated in a device during a printing process. CONSTITUTION:When the generation of abnormality in the device during the printing process is detected by an abnormality detection means 34, the driving of the intermediate transfer body is stopped by an intermediate transfer body driving control means 36 after the paper transfer roller is separated from the intermediate body by a paper transfer control means 33. Therefore, the generation of scratch on the intermediate transfer body by the paper transfer roller can be suppressed and the electrophotographic device with high image quality and little reduction in the service life of consumption parts can be provided.
