<p>The invention provides compounds, substances and compositions for the treatment of viral infections in human and animal subjects, and medicines and medicaments comprising them. Uses of such compounds, substances and compositions for the treatment of such viral infections, and for use in the preparation of substances and compositions for treating viral infections, in particular HIV infections, are disclosed. Novel compounds, being 1,5-disubstituted pent-4-en-1-yne compounds are disclosed, with methods of making them, and methods of treating viral infections in human or animal subjects.
