PURPOSE:To provide the radio telephone system in which the interruption of a speech line is prevented and no callback is required when a radio telephone slave set is resident at the outside of a speech available area or a battery of the radio telephone slave set is worn out. CONSTITUTION:This radio telephone system consists of a communication control procedure execution section 110 checking data communication between a radio telephone master set 101 and a radio telephone slave set 116, a number of error measurement section 111 measuring number of times of occurrence of errors, a message transmission section 107 holding a line of a talking opposite party when number of times of occurrence of errors reaches a specified number of times consecutively for a prescribed time, a timer management section 112 measuring various elapsed times, and a channel switch section 103, and is featured that talking is restarted when number of times of occurrence of errors reaches a specified number of times or below consecutively for a prescribed time, and a concerned call is transferred to other telephone set to continue the talking when number of times of occurrence of errors does not reach a specified number of times or below consecutively for a prescribed time, and devised such that the talking is continuously available even when the radio telephone slave set is resident at the outside of a speech available area or a battery of the radio telephone slave set is worn out.
