PURPOSE:To enable accurate and continuous measurement of particle sizes, distribution and the like of flocks, by determining individual area of flocculation ponds by image processing. CONSTITUTION:Raw water intake is introduced into a fast mixing pond 20 through a water dump well 10 and an agglutinant to be poured from an agglutinant pouring machine 22 is stirred up with an agitator 21. A flocculation pond 30 is partitioned with rectifying walls 33A and 33A with a number of holes bored and agitating paddles 31A-31C are provided in respective partitions to be rotated with agitating motors 32A-32C. Fine flocks flowing in from the mixing pond 20 are stirred up sequentially in the flocculation pond 30, contact one another and flocculate to form flocks 34. As the flocks 34 pass through the flocculation pond 30, the particle size thereof grows gradually. Then, the image of the flock 34 is converted into an electrical signal with a camera 100 and an image processing of the flock 34 is done with an image processor 110 based on the electrical signal to computing the area of the flock 34 thereby measuring the particle size thereof. |
