<p>The cutter device includes a pref. U-shaped wire of electrically conductive material having the ends of its parallel branches mounted in insulating supports. The wire is electrically heated to a temp. above the melting or decomposition temp. of the yarn to be cut, and a yarn catcher catches the yarn and applies it against the heated cross branch of the wire. Pref. the wire is maintained at a constant temp. below its max. temp. by a first heating circuit and is heated rapidly to its max. temp. by a second heating circuit. The cutter operates effectively with yarn thicknesses of 1/10-2 mm, and does not require frequent adjustment.</p> |
