The intermediate component comprises a fixed toothed wheel (31) situated at one end of a cylindrical body (33) whose opposite end is closed by an end plate (35). The plate has a central hole (36) which indirectly receives a rotary shaft supporting a pivoting assembly. The cylindrical body is inserted in a corresponding hole (11) cut into a bridge or base-plate (10). The toothed wheel may be the part of an escapement mechanism, intended to cooperate with an escapement pinion. The pivoted cage containing the balance spring is mounted in a stone inserted in the central hole (36).
