PURPOSE:To enhance image preservability, especially, light fastness, water resistance and chemical resistance by constituting a coupler of a copolymer consisting of a styrene monomer and at least one of a vinyl sulfonic acid monomer, a (meth)acrylic phosphorus-containing monomer and a (meth)acrylic acid monomer. CONSTITUTION:In a recording material, a coupler composed of a copolymer formed by polymerizing a styrene monomer (A) and at least one monomer (B) selected from a vinyl sulfonic acid monomer, a (meth)acrylic phosphorus- containing monomer and a (meth)acrylic acid monomer. Further, in the polymerization of the copolymer being the coupler, the monomer (B) is 15 - 150wt.%, pref., 25 - 100wt.% per 100wt.% of the monomer (A). The coupler composed of polymer latex is obtained by copolymerizing at least one monomer having a functional group with the styrene monomer. Since the coupler has film forming properties when it is applied to a base material, the coupler is excellent in water resistance. Further, since the coupler is stable polymer latex, it has excellent resistance and also has binder capacity. |
