PRODUCTION OF ETHYL ACETATE

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide an extremely effective process for efficiently and stably producing ethyl acetate useful for industrial purpose by using a heterogeneous catalyst in liquid phase. CONSTITUTION:Ethyl acetate is produced by contacting and reacting ethylene with acetic acid in vapor phase in the presence of water in the reaction system by using a solid catalyst produced by replacing a part of proton of phosphotungstic acid with cesium metal cation. The catalyst is a heterogeneous catalyst having extremely high reaction activity and high catalytic durability and the process is suitable as an industrial production process. The process has high reaction selectivity and is extremely useful for industrial purpose. The use of the catalyst enables economical production of ethyl acetate.
