PURPOSE:To stably run a strip while preventing snaking of the strip without developing contraction or buckling at low cost by pushing the strip with an auxiliary roll having recessed crown in inlet side of the strip for passing roll. CONSTITUTION:In the inlet side of the strip 2 for hearth roll 1 in a strip continuous line for vertical furnace, the strip 2 is pushed by using the auxiliary roll 3 having recessed crown. By this method, tension of the strip 2 at outside increasing with snaking is reduced and the snaking of the strip 2 toward center of the auxiliary roll 3 is corrected. The above auxiliary roll 3 is desirable to be 0<(d-d0)/(l-l0)<1.0X10<-2>, 0<l0<Wmin, 1/10D<d0 (wherein, d: diameter at both end side of the auxiliary roll 3, d0: diameter at center part of the auxiliary roll 3, l: effective length of the auxiliary roll 3, l0: length of straight part at center of the auxiliary roll 3, D: diameter of the hearth roll 1, Wmin: the min. width of the strip 2). Further, the tension of the strip 3 is desirable to be about 0.3-2.0kg/mm<2>. |
