<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a new compound, having angiotensin II antagonistic action and useful for treating hypertension, cardiac insufficiency, etc. CONSTITUTION:A compound expressed by formula I (R<1> is H, halogen, nitro, lower alkyl, etc.; R<2> to R<4> are H, halogen, nitro, cyano, lower alkyl, etc.; R<2> and R<2> may be linked to form 1,3-butadienylene; R<5> is H or imino-protecting group; A is lower alkylene; Q is CH or N; X is N or CH; Y is NH, O or S; formula II is condensed or uncondensed imidazolyl), e.g. 2-butyl-3-[4-[3,4- dichloro-2-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-1-pyrrolyl]benzyl]-7-methyl-3H-imidazo[4 ,5-b]pyridine. Furthermore, the compound expressed by formula I is obtained by converting the cyano group in a compound expressed by formula III into tetrazole group in the presence of a base such as triethylamine in a solvent such as methylene chloride.</p> |
