PURPOSE:To obtain an image forming device capable of quickly responding even in the case where fluctuation in environment is drastically generated and capable of keeping the stable quality of an image for a long time. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a means 101 for outputting information on the quantity of toner sticking on a latent image carrier, and the toner quantity changes in accordance with the fluctuation in the environment having an influence on the formation of an image, and the device is also provided with a means 100 for comparing an information value with a reference value for classifying the environment into a 1st environment and a 2nd environment and a means for switching the use of a dynamic range variable controlling means 105 which is most preferable to the 1st environment to the use of dynamic range variable controlling means 102, 103, 104 and 106 most preferable to the 2nd environment in accordance with an output from the comparing means. |
