PURPOSE:To rationalize the disposition of an oil passage by forming an intermediate valve body in a control valve unit formed of a three-piece valve body to be largest so as to be connected to the oil passage of a casing, and fitting solenoids to a lower valve body in such a way as not to protrude outside the intermediate valve body. CONSTITUTION:An upper valve body 16, an intermediate valve body 18 and a lower valve body 20 are overlapped to form a control valve unit 14. The intermediate valve body 18 is made largest in contour shape and connected to the oil passage of a casing 10. Solenoids 24, 26 are fitted to the side faces of the lower valve body 20, and the contour shape of the lower valve body 20 is set in such a way that the solenoids 24, 26 are not protruded outside the intermediate valve body 18. Accordingly, even if an obstruction approaches the control valve unit 14 from the lateral direction, the obstruction stops in contact with the side part of the intermediate valve body 18, so that the solenoids 24, 26 are prevented from being damaged.
