PURPOSE:To perform the optimum map matching in response to the road data quantity around the vehicle position. CONSTITUTION:A map matching procession section 7b monitors the road data quantity around the vehicle position, it switches the mode to the map matching by the projection method when the road data quantity is large to correct the vehicle position, and it switches the mode to the map matching by pattern matching when the road data quantity is small to correct the vehicle position. |
