PURPOSE:To restore data in a short time without requiring a large amount of memories after a defective disk is exchanged. CONSTITUTION:When a defective recording medium belonging to a recording device is exchanged by stopping the recording device in which the defect occurs in this duplex file system which writes the same data on at least two recording device 8 and 9 of a main and auxiliary recording devices respectively having plural recording media 10 and, when a fault occurs in one of the recording devices, continues the process by using the normal recording device, the updated address information of the normal recording device is recorded during the exchanging work and, after the exchanging work is completed, only the content of the updated address is copied based on the recorded address information from the recording medium corresponding to the normal recording device. |
