PURPOSE:To obtain an anticoagulant, composed of a polymer of a styrene-based sulfonate and usable by dissolving in blood and further as a medical tool by mixing, binding, impregnating or coating a conventionally used medical material therewith. CONSTITUTION:An anticoagulant is composed of homopolymer of a styrene- based sulfonate, preferably sodium p-styrenesulfonate or its copolymer with other copolymerizable monomers. The molecular weight of the aforementioned polymer is such that the required polymerization decree of the polymer is 5 or more. Anticoagulant effects are increased with increasing polymerization degree. |
