PURPOSE:To perform the printing of cloth having excellent sharpness, level dyeing properties and fixing properties by pretreating cloth with at least one kind of an agent selected from a water repellent and a softening water repellent and printing the treated cloth by an ink jet system using dye ink containing a hydrotrope agent and subsequently fixing a dye. CONSTITUTION:At first, cloth such as a fabric, a knitted fabric or a nonwoven fabric is pretreated with a treatment solution (pretreatment agent) having at least one kind of a water repellent and a softening water repellent dispersed or dissolved therein. Subsequently, a dye is applied to the cloth thus treated by an ink jet system. At this time, when no hydrotrope agent is used in the pretreatment agent, the hydrotrope agent is added to dye ink. The printed cloth is next dried at 80-120 deg.C and a dye is subsequently fixed by the method corresponding to the dye to wash and dry the printed cloth. The hydrotrope agent enhances fixing properties and level dyeing properties and, concretely, urea is generally used. |
