PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having excellent color forming sensitivity and imparting a developed color image excellent in storage stability by using 3-(N-isobutyl-N-methylamine)-6-methyl-7-anilinofluorane as a color former and also using m-terphenyl as a heat-meltable substance. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material containing an electron donating color former and an electron acceptive developer, 3-(N-isobutyl-N-methylamine)-6- methyl-7-anilinofluorane is used as the color former and m-terphenyl is used as a sensitizer. 3-(N-isobutyl-N-methylamine)-6-methyl-7-anilinofluorane is prepared by reacting 2-(4'-N-isobutyl-N-methylamino-2'-amino-2'hydroxybenzoyl) benzoate with 4-alkoxy-2-methyldiphenylamine, for example, in the presence of a condensation agent such as conc. sulfuric acid and making the reaction system alkaline. As the developer, a phenolic substance represented by bisphenol A or aromatic carboxylic acid is used. |
