Each two telescopic elements are interconnected mechanically and electrically by a resilient contact member (13), consisting of an electrically conductive plastics. Pref. the contact member is in the form of an elongated sleeve with a longitudinal slit (14). It is typically injection moulded. The contact member has a cross section eccentric between the inner and outer walls. Its outer periphery may carry distributed knobs. At one end it may be conically widened and may have an incision in its longitudinal direction. The plastics of the sleeve may contain friction reducing additives, typically graphite. ADVANTAGE - Simple mfr. and assembly, with maintenance-free operation.
