PURPOSE:To obtain an artificial marble having uniform transparency by placing an opaque molding material at the part to form the back surface and a transparent molding material at the part to form the top surface in the molding of an unsaturated polyester resin molding material to form a molded article having irregular back surface. CONSTITUTION:A transparent unsaturated polyester resin molding material and an opaque unsaturated polyester molding material are produced by properly selecting the raw materials in the production of an unsaturated polyester resin molding material by compounding an unsaturated polyester resin with a shrinkage-controlling agent (e.g. polystyrene), a filler (e.g. calcium carbonate), a curing agent (e.g. dicumyl peroxide), etc. An artificial marble is molded by using the opaque molding material at the back side of the marble having irregular surface and the transparent molding material for the molding of the top surface of the molded article. |
