发明名称 Derivatives of amino triazine-formaldehyde condensation products
摘要 <p>A hardenable condensation product is made by reacting together (a) a formaldehyde condensation product of an amino-1 : 3 : 5-triazine containing at least two -NH2 groups in which condensation product at least one oxymethyl group for every NH2- group of the aminotriazine is etherified with an alcohol containing at most 4 carbon atoms, and which also contains bound to at least one -NH2 group an -O-CH2- group bound to a residue containing at least 7 carbon atoms with (b) a partial ester of a plyhydric aliphatic alcohol with a saturated non-aromatic mono-carboxylic acid containing at least 12 carbon atoms or a partial ether of a polyhydric aliphatic alcohol with a monohydric alcohol containing at least 12 carbon atoms. The reaction is performed with the aid of heat, e.g. at 100-200 DEG C., under practically anhydrous conditions, if desired in the presence of an acidic catalyst, accompanied by the splitting off of the alcohol containing at most 4 carbon atoms, and the reaction mixture is freed from the catalyst if such has been used. Component (a) is made by reacting methylolaminotriazine ethers with reactive compounds containing a residue having at least 7 carbon atoms, suitable reactive compounds being (i) amides obtained from ammonia or primary amines and carboxylic acids; (ii) substituted ureas; (iii) urethanes; (iv) secondary amides; (v) N : N1-diacylated alkylene or arylene diamines; (vi) mercaptans; (vii) esters of alcohols of high molecular weight with mercaptocarboxylic acids; (viii) carboxylic acids; (ix) primary, secondary or tertiary alcohols; (x) condensation products of polyglycols or ethylene oxide with alcohols, amines or amides; or (xi) N-methylol compounds, e.g. N-methylol amides or urethanes. The Specification lists a large number of substances which may be used to prepare reactants (a) and (b). The products are waxy and are insoluble or slightly soluble in water and lower alcohols but dissolve in esters, ketones, higher alcohols and hydrocarbons. They are compatible with fatty oils, colophony or derivatives thereof, colophony-phenol resins, maleic acid esters, heat-treated copals, alkyds, styrolized oils, urea or aminotriazine resins, vinyl resins and epoxide resins. The products are especially suitable for producing a waterrepellent dressing on textiles (see Group VIII). Impregnation may be effected with an aqueous emulsion or a solution in an organic solvent, e.g. carbon tetrachloride, trichlorethylene, orthodichlorobenzene or benzine. Additional substances having a water-repellent effect may be added, e.g. beeswax, carnauba wax, montan wax, paraffin wax and synthetic waxes. There may also be added known acidic hardening agents, water-soluble aluminium salts of organic or inorganic acids, or zirconium compounds (e.g. zirconium salts or sols of hydrated zirconium dioxide). When using aqueous emulsions, the emulsifier is preferably a salt of a basic ternary aminotriazine condensate as disclosed in Specification 748,016. When using solutions in organic solvents, the ternary condensation product may be present in the form of the free base or as a salt and diluents may be present, e.g. ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, benzene, toluene, xylene, chlorobenzene or 1 : 2-dichloroethane. In examples: (1) the ester obtained by reacting stearic acid with sodium carbonate and reacting the product with epichlorohydrin is reacted with an ester obtained by reacting a highly methylated methylol melamine and stearic acid; (2) and (3) the condensation product of methylated methylol melamine and N-methylol stearic acid amide or N-methylol-octadecyl carbamic acid ester is reacted with stearic acid diglyceride; (4) a di-ether of glycerine obtained by reacting octadecyl alcohol with sodium in methanol and reacting the product with epichlorhydrin is itself reacted with an ester obtained by reacting a highly methylated methyol melamine and stearic acid; (5) the condensation product of a methylated methylol melamine and stearic acid amide is reacted with stearic acid diglyceride; (6) methylol melamine methyl ether monostearate is heated with glycerine distearic acid ester or with glycerine dioctadecyl ether; (7) fabrics are treated with an emulsion containing (a) a ternary condensation product of triethanolamine and a stearic acid ester of a methylated methylol melamine which has been treated with acetic acid; (b) paraffin wax; (c) a product of Examples 1-6 and (d) ammonium chloride and (e) water; (8) cotton is treated with an emulsion containing the ternary condensation product of Example 7, paraffin wax, a product of Examples 1-6, isopropyl alcohol, acetic acid, water and ammonium chloride; (9) cotton is treated with a solution in carbon tetrachloride of the ternary condensation product of Example 7, paraffin wax, a product of Examples 1-6, monochloracetic acid and ethanol; (10) similar to Example 9 but instead of carbon tetrachloride there may be used trichlorethylene, tetrachlorethylene, benzine or other petroleum hydrocarbon; (11) nylon is treated with an emulsion containing the ternary condensation product of Example 7, paraffin wax, a product of Examples 1-6, chlorobenzene, glacial acetic acid, water and aluminium sulphate.
