PURPOSE:To accurately detect the direction of a line of sight by finding the center of the pupil and the position of a 1st Purkinje image by using many bit elements and finding the pupil center from the intersection of a 1st and a 2nd straight line. CONSTITUTION:The pupil center 32 and the position of the 1st Purkinje image PI are found by using many bit elements. Further, only the 1st straight line K1 and 2nd straight line K2 are used according to a Newton method to find the inflection point 5 of a photoelectric conversion signal distribution curve as their intersection and the inflection point 5 is regarded as the position of the edge 37 of the pupil to find the center 32 of the pupil. Consequently, while the influence of a noise, ghost, etc., is removed as much as possible, the direction of the line of sight can accurately be detected, and the method of signal processing is made easy. |
