The invention relates to a circuit breaker with closing resistor. g s subject is a high-voltage circuit breaker comprising, for each pole, at least one cut-off chamber comprising a casing filled with a pressurised dielectric gas, within which are placed a fixed main contact and a fixed arc contact linked to a first current pick-up, a movable main contact and a movable arc contact linked electrically to a second current pick-up and mechanically to an operating element, a closing resistor linked by a first end to the said first current pick-up, characterised in that the said fixed permanent contact is produced in two parts (2A, 2B) and that it comprises a semi-movable assembly (20) capable of moving with respect to fixed elements of the circuit breaker between a first position when the circuit breaker is in engaged position and a second position when the circuit breaker is in disengaged position, the said assembly comprising contacts (24, 23A) providing the electrical link in the two parts when the said assembly is in the said first position and the electrical separation of these two parts when it is in the second position, the said assembly comprising contacts (25) continuously providing the electrical link between the second end of the resistor (7) and the fixed arc contact.
