A urine collection bag 1 is made from flexible material and fitted with a connector 6 comprising components 7 and 9 coupled together through a hole 8 in the bag such that the flexible material of the bag is trapped between them to form a watertight seal. The bag may be ruptured by applying moderate force to provide a drainage aperture by pulling out the connector.
